Brujo

Had to redo this post...hit some button on accident and poof...fucken gone! Then, instead of hitting undo, I hit back and wasn't able to undo the error after that. Rule number one in this gorgeous computer world of ours has always been to save your work every once in a while...fuck! Fortunately, with treatment, I am able to ignore these kinds of temporary setbacks...yeah right....hahah. Anyway I was miraculously able to remember, at least, the photos and das musica I had up, but all the bullshit I had written is gone. Had a cigarette and thought about it, and decided what the fuck, may as well, give it go, again, but y'all missed out on some really deep shit :)

Had a big long thing written here, but suffice it to say I love this two song single, which is the only thing they ever released (that I know of). Flávia Ciampi has one of my favorite modern voices. It was nice of whoever runs their YT page to follow my YT page...thank you :)

Had a wonderful chat with my old pal and former bandmate, Brian, aka Senior Chief (ret.). I get so much out of chatting with him and really do appreciate a good chat, as some of you who have had the pleasure (hahah) of chatting with me may know. Topics included
yacht rock
KISS pinball machine
Hieronymus Bosch...
So here's my favorite of the ones I looked at, The Garden of Earthly Delights...Hell panel. Interestingly enough, I am sorta planning a trip to see my favorite living relative (next to my Son and Kailee), my Aunt Kim and her husband Mark, and there is a HB painting in Kansas City @ the Nelson Atkins Museum! The one above is at the Prado in Madrid, which is a place that has long been on my bucket list of places to go.

The Garden of Earthly Delights
Zamia Lehmanni (Songs of Byzantine Flowers)
I think I've mentioned this album more than any other in my 15+ years of music blogging and maybe haven't posted this tune before, but it fits the moment.

I am with my Son wherever he goes...in spirit at least...somewhere off the coast of Rhode Island (?)

Not a dud on this record!
"...and you can call me Dick"

I call these Black Hole Web Spiders. I know what he/she/it was thinking while I was taking the picture, because I'm psychic like that..."Ok pal, I'm trying to get some food together here, so fuck off!"

My longtime pal and former bandmate, Jeff (aka the Leftoverking) played this Shellac tune on his radio/streaming show last night, I Don't Fear Hell, and it hit the spot. Hadn't heard them in so long that I forgot how bitchin' they are.

Liam getting visited by one of my best friends in this godforsaken world. Even though we rarely communicate, she is still one of the finest human beings I've ever run across.

Have dug this tune for a quite a while and always just wrote it off as a Stooges style love song, but the reality is that it is just an elaborate 1969 booty call..hahah...Hello?

G'night y'all...

entropy

Folks on social media use filters so they can look pretty...

Life's not been good for you
It's just not fair
You did nothing to deserve it
You did nothing at all
Sit back and watch
It turns from bad to worse
No matter how loud you cry
It always hurts
Boy I'm glad I'm not in your shoes
How could things
Get any worse for you?
You're so fucking alone
How could things
Get any worse for you?
I don't blame you
When you piss and moan
Everybody gets
What you should've got
Everybody takes
Your opportunities
Everybody gets
The breaks that belonged to you
Everybody takes
Your just desserts
Life's not been good for you
It's just not fair
I've got some news for you
Nothing is fair
I wish there was a way
To make it all better
I pray for a way
To make you happy
Cause I'm sick and I'm tired
Of your whining, complaining, and bitching and moaning
Boo fucking hoo

Had these two 7"s listed on Discogs for around $50 apiece and thought to myself, nah, I need to send these to my Son. Too classic and you get street cred for having them in your collection. Have I ever shared the seller terms that I have with every record I have up for sale?

PLEASE READ and abide or go somewhere else to buy your records...
All records have been collected by me over the last 40+ years, I am not a store and therefore, I ship when my work schedule permits.  They are all subject to the living conditions I have enjoyed (endured) for those 40+ years...back when you could smoke in record stores that had incense constantly burning (some even sold paraphernalia). This includes, but is not limited to, cigarettes (and other smokables), incense, dogs, cats and other odors, including a fart or two...the reek of my life, you might say.  They've seen some things. There may also be dust and/or a dog/cat hair or two included at no extra charge. I hear tell that if you put a dryer sheet in the plastic sleeve for a week, it kills the odor and smells like it just got out of the dryer. Records are visually graded and not play tested, as I do not have a working turntable. All items shipped in brand new mailers and the item will be wrapped in bubble wrap. Please contact me before leaving neutral or negative feedback, as I will work with you to make it right. As a buyer, it is a simple job, pick what you want and pay. If you do this and you leave positive feedback for me, I will do the same for you. If you have a problem with any of this then I'm sure you can find someone else to buy records from.  Thank you!

It's a trippy 7" taken as a whole, but the 1st tune, Cranked Up, has some of the most insane hardcore punk drumming ever. Seriously so and so much so, that I think this is not the first time I've mentioned it...nor will it be the last...hahah

A terrible photo of a Yellow-billed Cuckoo...I posted it to iNaturalist, which is a site I encourage anyone similarly inclined, who takes pics of the natural world, to join/participate in. It's been hot as fuck here, and right before I took this photo, the bowl was filled with about 20 bathing Starlings. Then this guy/gal landed and chased 'em all off. It was comical and my chuckling delayed what would have been a really cool video/picture. According to Professor Big Shawn, who got me into iNatuarlist, this is actually an elusive bird, so I'm guessing, with all the heat, a bath "alone" to cool off, was in order...hahah.

I just love these guys, could put them on every post and feel good about it. I do regret not going to see them while I lived up North there, 5 hours drive is really a small price to pay to have gotten an opportunity to be amazed by a live performance..

I know it's grainy as shit, but I like this one for the texture and the bird as more of a silhouette. So much so that it's now the header to the blog. According to the professor, there's an 80% chance that it's a Killdeer (what a great name for a band)

I can appreciate Jamaican music and the evolution of such over the years. I've made two CDr mixes featuring all kinds of Jamaican tunes that spans something like 60 years, and this tune will definitely be on a 3rd (if that ever comes to fruition). I like that last line, "survival is the game". It's a rough fucking world out there.

Mr. P tying to help me decide if it's the 5/8s wrench I need, while working on the mower this past weekend. It's Tuesday night and hoping all y'all, with or without have consumed a good tune or two in this post, have some measure of peace and happiness in your lives.

Demons Waring (when Mostaza is near)

Thinking about my bug...

sPot!!! After I uploaded this to YT, I noticed someone disliked my vid of Mr. P going for a run...hahah. Who the fuck dislikes seeing a dog being a dog and enjoying himself? Perhaps it was because I was in the truck and not walking with him, I don't know? Shit, I'm so beat up I can't even walk down to the fucking mailbox and back...no way I can keep up with Mr. P. God, that's gonna bug me, gotta let it go.

I think I could put up a vid of these guys on every post...the two drummer period was my favorite (this one happens to have a tuba and has Mr. Leary on vocals).

Good morning :)

Hadn't heard from these guys in a bit, so checked their Evil Ear YT page and sure enough, they are still cranking out the rockin' tunes.

This pic captures a fairly typical moment in my "active" home life. I'd show the rest of my "office" but I'm a fucking slob and somewhat embarrassed by that, but not enough to do shit about it.

I was so wasted, they kicked me out of the pit, because I kept eating shit and they got tired of picking my ass up.

Been pissing off people and friends lately, kind of on a roll there. If you are reading this and you are one of those people, you know who you are, I want to sincerely apologize. Too much Mustard is real. I feel like I have good intentions, but what comes out of my mouth doesn't always reflect that.

Used to have this 12" EP, but sold it for a good chunk of change and then turned around a bought the repress a few years later for a couple of bucks

In the 80s we called it a wish smoke...hmmm

"Drive by body pierce..."

Pensive...you gotta endure the wind if ya wanna live in NoWhere Kansas.

"soy un perdedor"

No recent pics of Mr. P doing his thing, so I thought I'd give AI a chance...God I love that dog (it's no coincidence that he's in the trees at sunset).

Is there...hahah? I tried to give away some swag for karmic purposes and not one hit...hahah. I did manage to sell a guy a record and then couldn't find it, so I gave him a full refund and then thought wtf, sent him a thrash/grind care package...hahah. Still trying to sell that Agression banner/poster, so I can put some money in my project to get my '69 VW bug back on the road...hahah! Hahah...

1980 on the New Wave Theatre show with Peter Ivers (RIP)...this is classic BR!

Burbank homies up in Humboldt...I want to say '89 when Matcher moved up there.

When I first came to Humboldt in the mid 80s and came upon the music scene, I knew I was in a good place.

My Cousin's little girl out at their family farm. My Aunt (RIP) would have adored her :)

I don't know what genre of metal this is (a little help Elliott?), but I dig this song and really this whole album. Trip Metal...hahah? With a name like Iowaska, or Ayahuasca (pronounced 'eye-ah-WAH-ska'), which is a South American psychedelic beverage, used in ceremonies. It makes for a good read if you want to go down that rabbit hole...I could talk about the use of psychedelics, both recreationally and ceremonially, for hours. Check this band out though, they've been on my radar for while...

Haven't posted Zebras in along ass time, going back a way into the MR blog....don't even know if they are still a thing, but they are/were a hell of a band. This is my favorite song off this album. Used to swap emails with Vincent and at one point had ever release on his Secret Records. Now I'm selling 'em, but I think I will probably send my Son all the Zebras stuff...easy band to dig, even if you're not really into hard hitting music, because they are that fucking good!

Long time pal, outta Greece, Panos, sent me this PD tune of his and since it's all in Greek, I asked him to break it down for me...
"Well the lyrics have a symbolic meaning human beings who run after money are like insects that fall in trap of Nepenthes which is a genus of carnivorous plants, also known as tropical pitcher plants, or monkey cups. THE INSECTS GO FOR THE NEKTAR BUT ARE EATEN ALIVE.PEOPLE GO AFTER THEIR CAPITALIST DREAMS AND ARE EATEN ALIVE BY THESE DREAMS"
Thanks, as always, Panos :) Two places on my bucket list to go, are Sweden and Greece, to meet some of these long time virtual friends. I like to be reminded that there are good folks all over the world, especially since the bad folks around all of us that seem to make the biggest impact.

Input a few words and AI does the rest...it can be a good tool, but guns are tools too. Told my Son a long time ago, that you always are polite and do exactly what the cops are telling you, because they have the gun and they can get away with using it. You can fucking die on a traffic stop! With that, I'll wish y'all a good week...hahah....keep listening to that music.
