Look onto the rays of the new stoner sun rising...

"Slumber killed by rays of the new red sun arising
Dreamer wakens to spectral gaze of light rays shining
Black steed carries him across the astral sand
Rides alone is the man from the magic caravan
I believe the signs of the reptile master
Sunbound spacepod rising faster
Earth drenched in black under starless sky above
Man on the mountain sets free the holy dove
Look onto the rays of the new stoner sun rising
Sonic Titan rides out on clouds of new horizon
Look onto the rays of the new stoner sun rising
Sonic Titan rides out on clouds of new horizon"

Fly on the wall time...I love going to live shows and you folks that don't have far to travel to catch a decent show are truly fortunate...Mostaza gushes with envy. About the only thing I miss about San Diego is the sheer numbers of shows that I had to choose from. Now it's a 3 hour drive to the nearest record store and 4.5 hours to a venue with worthwhile music. Ahhh...I've honed the skill of complaining and doing nothing about it...I have a Phd, in Woe Is Me

Last show I went to...video by my long time compatriot Brian F. Cattle Decapitation, Obituary, Carcass and then we left before Amon Amarth

This was just two weeks ago, probably on the same tour I saw in Washington several months ago...I would like to be in North Carolina regardless...but...but...but

Meanwhile Courage and I live in fear of inner peace in NoWhere fucking Kansas
In my distress I cry to the Lord,
    that he may answer me:
“Deliver me, O Lord,
from lying lips,
from a deceitful tongue.”
What shall be given to you?
And what more shall be done to you,
you deceitful tongue?
A warrior’s sharp arrows,
with glowing coals of the broom tree!
Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech,
that I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
Too long have I had my dwelling
among those who hate peace.
I am for peace;
but when I speak,
they are for war!

"there is no loot"

I desperately wish this gif had sound...ominously quiet...so hurry up and listen to some music...any music!

I'll start it out with something that hits home for me...the Mostaza Saga...the sentiment of this song is universal. Unfortunately, this is the only recording of the song on the tube and early on there is an audible skip in the record, which bugs me to no end. Also unfortunate, is the fact that I am too lazy to put up a proper version, which would also include a scan of the bands entry on the fold out sleeve. Both my scanner and turntable are covered in crap like books and records and CDs and whatnot...so nope (no twists or surprise endings in my story...never has been)!

Whelp, got off my ass...

...stolen from somewhere...reminding us (me) to chill in the most papal of ways!

POGO POPE POGO...

My bro Alex turned me onto these guys recently, which sent me down a Brown Sabbath rabbit hole...quite an enjoyable journey!

Reminds me of the first time I took acid when I was 14 with Roy "Hamsterhead" Miyake, watching Led Zepplin's "Song Remains The Same"

Hands down my favorite Black Flag song. I don't care who your favorite singer is for the band, but when Chuck wrote this, Henry happened to be the singer. I would like to have heard it with all the other singers, coincidence made it Henry's job. If you look on the tube for a live version it is nowhere to be found, I like this one though with the spanish subtitles. I met Chuck in about '86 when I saw SWA and some other bands...I remember he was very friendly, a little trippy and had definitely been around the scene for a while...I, on the other hand, some dumb punk kid.

This one is for my Mom cuz I miss her and she loved CCR...

A picture I took of the biggest flock of Snow Geese I have ever seen, from back in January

My pal Carmen caught me napping at a company event...work hard, nap harder! Getting old y'all requires occasional spontaneous rest...know what I mean?

Like always being "it" in a game of tag...

We haven't had a visit from Billy Nomates in a few...coincidentally made this GIF a while back...foreshadowing I guess or was it a harbinger (which I found out, when looking up the word, that it isn't always a negative thing...hmmm). Woke up in a bad mood this morning...I suppose that's what I get for going to bed in a bad one...ain't life grand? Wasn't there a pretty good flick called A Boy And His Dog, with none other than Don Johnson? That's myself and Mr. Pickles, although the dog doesn't die in my story, the fate of the boy is iffie, at best.

Well, I sleep on the floor
Of a room, I just can't afford
For a job that I just don't want
'Cause I was born with a fork, not a spoon
And things fall through
Life is too expensive
Ah, don't get defensive
Or what do you want, blood?
I'm A-positive
Ah-huh
Well, I made a run for it once
But I just ended up back at square one
'Cause they could smell me from a mile away
And so I bowed out disgracefully
And now the only thing that keeps me goin'
Is the fact that, if I can't own nothing
Then nothing can own me
Nothing can own me
All I see is
Forgotten normal people, yeah, we ain't all born equal
Well, the burnin' world is ours
And I'm on fire
But I dance upon your deals
I dig my dirty heels
'Cause there's nothing in this world
That isn't mine
Well, I've tried every which way avenue
But I cannot, and I will not pay my way in
Some things are best left unscripted
I will not quietly exist over here
In a corner of society that they hope disappears
That has more soul than their tiny minds could handle
They have forgotten normal people are a force to remember
And what they haven't considered
Is how we hold everything together
Now they may have fucked with things beyond recognition
But you sit in that seat, and you start the ignition
'Cause this is your drive
This is our car
It's our life
This is who we are
Forgotten normal people
Yeah, we ain't all born equal
Well, the burning world is ours
And I'm on fire
But I dance upon your deals
I dig my dirty heels
'Cause there's nothing in this world
That isn't mine
Forgotten normal people
Yeah, we ain't all born equal
Well, the burning world is ours
And I'm on fire
But I dance upon your deals
I dig my dirty heels
'Cause there's nothing in this world
That isn't mine
Forgotten normal people
Forgotten normal people

Mr. Pickles and I were talking about my Son and Granddaughters the other day and he posited something very similar to the idea in the below meme...

I don't usually borrow from social media, but my pal @doomglossary, who I consider to be one of the wisest of many, posted this recently. I feel like the older I get, this is true!

The young punk talking about glue sniffing @ 33:44 always touched me when watching this flick...what a way to completely incinerate your brain. I've gotten high a lot of ways in all kinds of combinations, but glue sniffing or huffing gasoline never appealed to me.  My buddy Slam who I lived with 92-93 up in Kneeland, had this on VHS...must've watched it a hundred times (high, on god know what...I'm no better or worse than any glue sniffer). Sadly, it's live video, but what you hear is studio recordings...oh well, I guess you get the point.

The Courtesy Clerks is a local band for my old buddy Ed, there in southern Washington and he did me the courtesy of turning me onto them.

Check out my main man, Ed, bass-ing it up!

Was thinking about the Zebras recently...thought you should too.

Looks like they put on a pretty good live set too. Used to correspond with guitar player Vincent, virtually. His Secret Records has quite a catalog after 15 years, well worth your time to check out...
