Mustard Relics Is Dead

I just dumped several posts down there for your listening pleasure, so be sure and check them out, but...   160+ posts and about 9 months into it, I'm calling it quits for at least a while.  Life has just gotten too hectic and complicated in my quiet country living for me to have the time and energy to do this.  The wind has basically left my sails and I don't feel like doing this anymore. I hope you all have enjoyed what I've done so far, at least half as much as I've enjoyed doing it.  Check my links to see what other guys are doing, far better than I ever did.  Thanx for all the support you guys.

Another off shoot of Brents TV with Al of Isocracy/Greenday on drums.  Pretty surf-y, not sure even after all these years if I'm a surf guy, but these guys could(can) do just about anything and make it sound good. Offenders - I Hate Myself/Bad Times 7"

A cold blustery day here in NoWhere Kansas. Yesterday it snowed and the day before I was in shorts. Strange weather, but things will be greener here soon and Spring should bring out the good cheer (yeah right). Indoor activities for me today. Right now I'm addicted to this spades game on my phone, but my computer partner sucks (of course). Used to ply a lot of spades with the ex-cons in various detoxes and rehabs, but the rules on the game I've been playing are slightly different. The rules to game of life have changed for me recently too, the old rules just don't apply anymore.

Not sure what made these guys pop in my head, probably something on fucking facebook, a place I don't visit as often as I used to.  Anyway...

A State Of Mind - What's The Difference Animal/Humyn Exploitation

On Mind Matter Records, the same label as Christ On Parade's first 7".  There is absolutely no web presence that I could find on these guys except collector site type shit.  There was a link to a site when I originally wrote this post that had this to say, "A State of Mind is a group of individuals working together in various forms of communication; music, literature and art. Venom 7"

 Kind of a trippy picture, I thought, of a boar's skull stuck in a tree in my yard.   I chose this post next because like the previous one it was released in 1981 and it has a very similar cover.  I've always prefered punk/hardcore over metal for various reasons, but in the early 80's I was definately into these guys.  When I was in 9th grade my buddy Roy and I got dropped off by his mom to see them at the Hollywood Palladium, with Slayer and Exodus on the Combat Tour in 1984.  Calling it a crazy show doesn't even begin to describe it.  We stood on the edge the pit, which seemed like a safe place until this big hesher punched me in the back of the head.  I turned around and before I could think I told him "what the fuck".  He looked like he was going to really kick my ass at the point when this even bigger hesher got in his face and told him to back off.  It turned out that the guy who saved me from getting my ass kicked was Armando Acosta, the drummer for St. Vitus As usual, Wikipedia provides a pretty decent write up on the band here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Venom_%28band%29 .  It's funny because I never thought of them as horrible musicians, but according to the article that was what some chose to focus on as far as their music.  I always liked that the vocals were growled instead of screamed as was the case with so many NWOBHM bands.  Check these two out.
