Delta 9 - From Darkness 12"

My main man, when it comes to feeding my mind with Industrial Hardcore, Seanocide, came through in spades with this one. I asked if he knew of any seriously ugly, evil hardcore gabber type shit and one of his suggestions was this 12" from 2008, the first release on his own Devil Times Nine label.  UGLY & EVIL in spades!!!  This is seriously some of the best hardcore I have ever heard.  This guy Delta 9 comes from another world, because they don't have shit this cool on planet Earth. It's hardcore of the finest sort, but it's got elements of straight up industrial music and isn't limited, it's sophisticated. There's that, almost military steady banging, mixed with the perfect sinister samples and constantly changing melodies to keep you guessing. Anybody who says that these electro freaks aren't really artists or musicians, hasn't heard this guy and this may well be his masterpiece...unfucking believeable... "Humboldt in Hollywood" w/ Nathan Pierce

I don't remember Nathan (not because he's not memorable, more so because I'm a mushbrain), but he's one of those old Humboldt heads, the locally born and bred variety, that was around during the 7 years I lived up there (87-94). I've chatted with him a bit on the dreaded Facebook and of course the topic was music. Turns out he's got a connect at Kchung Radio 1630 am, Chinatown, Los Angeles and he was fixin' to DJ a Humboldt "punk rock" broadcast...turns out he did two broadcast, two weeks apart. He played about 90% of the bands that I remember from that time, mid-80s, early 90s, plus some killer ones from after that.  Well worth a listen if you're a fan of that special breed of punk that only Humboldt could have produced...  Humboldt In Hollywood 05.12.2014 Humboldt In Hollywood 05.26.2014

"Mr. Happy" (short film) - starring Chance the Rapper (Chancelor Bennett )

One thing my Son Liam and I share in musical taste is a love for Chance the Rapper (Liam's turning me onto cool shit all the time, check out Devin The Dude - Doobie Ashtray and SZA - Sobriety. It looks like Mr. Bennett is spreading his wings even further, soaring like the greatest of raptors and has tried his hand at acting.
