Been a while since I explored some hardcore-ish tunes, been wandering almost aimlessly in other genres. Toshi of The Instigation, rightly obliged by sending me some of their virtual music. Here's the blurb he sent...
Trash rockin' hardcore punk band from Far East Asia,tokyo/shanghai,The Instigation. Its 4-piece from different countries as Japan,UK,China and Canada. Their first 7inch with 5songs is just out and their sound is combining early 80s US hardcore punk with trashy garage punk.trashy loud guitar is rumbling and british vocal is blasting on the tight rhysm section and it would blow your mind away. If you are a fan of Dean Dirg,Henry Fiat;s Open Sore,Regulations,Napoleon Dynamite etc,you can get the taste. handnumbering 200 limited,(self-release BTB001)
First thought, definitely wouldn't mind getting a copy of this bad boy...seriously raging. I'm no expert on international hardcore, but this reminds me of a blend of Japanese and British hardcore. Maybe it's more akin to an early Black Flag thing (they do a BF cover). But this isn't some kind of lame attempt at a retro rehash of someone else's past glories, this is fucking alive and kicking. Driving like hardcore should be, imperative, saying "hurry up and listen to THIS". Everybody knows how to play their instruments, the singer rocks, no sloppy noodling, tight. As it says in their deal, only 200 of these made so get it while you can. For now go to their Bandcamp and give it a listen...
