Well I finally did it and got the turntable running right. After making sure the ground wire was properly hooked up, checking the help pages, reading user's guides and so on I finally just did a visual inspection. The needle/stilus cartridge was not pushed all the way in. BAM, 90% better sound instantly. There is still the faintest of a hum or hiss, but I personally think it now sounds pretty damn good. Let me know.
******* If you downloaded the Garden Weasel-Without Direction and/or Behind The Redwood Curtain posts, delete those files. I have re-upped both those posts with much better sound.
